Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By SUV: Police
A 21-year-old Oak Lawn man died after he was struck by an SUV in Mount Greenwood late Saturday, police said.
CHICAGO (MOUNT GREENWOOD) — An Oak Lawn man died after he was struck by an SUV late Saturday evening in Mount Greenwood. The 21-year-old man was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office as John Roche, Jr.
The accident happened in the 11100 block of South Pulaski Avenue just before midnight July 11. A 2015 Honda SUV was traveling southbound on Pulaski when Roche stepped into the street and was struck, Chicago police said. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene, where the young man was pronounced. No other injuries were reported.
The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled Roche’s death an accident due to multiple injuries from being struck by a motor vehicle. Roche lived in the 11000 block of South Keeler Avenue.

No citations have been issued and alcohol did not appear to be a factor, police said. The CPD Major Accidents is investigating the accident.
