Video and Photos Released Of Morgan Park Pancake House Shooting

CHICAGO — Images and video taken from nearby security cameras mounted on businesses have been released of five people and a vehicle believed to be involved in the homicide that took place Aug. 30 at a Morgan Park restaurant.

Around 1:40 p.m. last Sunday, police said three men entered the outdoor dining tent at Lumes Pancake House where they opened fire on a 31-year-old man as he was eating a meal. Four others were also shot, who are now recovering from the wounds at area hospitals. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe he was targeted.

Surveillance video shows a man in a yellow hoodie buying snacks at a gas station mini-mart while another man gasses up a white SUV, reported by witnesses as the vehicle the suspects drove up in. In the next clip, the suspects 3, 4 and 5 are sauntering across the parking lot to the outdoor dining tent at the pancake house.

One of the men appears to be carrying a handgun. Seconds later, the men run back to the white SUV. Video and still images also show a black SUV racing down Western Avenue after the shooting.
