Rail Work Will Close 103rd Street At Sacramento For 12 Days
The rail crossing at 103rd and Sacramento will be closed to traffic from June 11-22 as a CSX project continues.

CHICAGO, IL - The CSX railroad crossing on 103rd Street and Sacramento Avenue will be closed for repairs for a 12-day period beginning on Monday, June 11. Signs have been posted on both eastbound and westbound lanes at the crossing for about a week.
The signs indicate work on the crossing is slated to be complete by the end of the day on June 22, with traffic opening up on 103rd Street the following day.
Closing the crossing means 103rd Street won't be a thoroughfare between Kedzie and Western avenues for two weeks. Detour signs may be in place guiding motorists to different routes.

From the west, avoid 103rd at Kedzie or Pulaski via 111th, 99th or 95th.

Since cars will use side streets to circumnavigate, delays throughout the neighborhood and in nearby sections of Evergreen Park should be expected.
Currently, a CSX project at the 95th Street rail crossing just east of Kedzie in Evergreen Park has that closed and 99th Street has become a traffic standstill at times as a result. That's likely to continue as the rail work moves to 103rd Street.
CSX can be reached by calling 708-832-2169, or 606-723-2193, or 1-800-737-1663.
