Red Minivan Driver Tried To Lure Boy In Mount Greenwood: Cops

Older man driving red Honda minivan tried to lure 11-year-old boy on Maplewood, police said.

CHICAGO — An older man tried to lure an 11-year-old boy to his minivan on Friday afternoon, Chicago police said. The boy was able to flee from the man and notify police.

Around 2:35 p.m. Sept. 11, 22nd District police said the boy was walking on the 11400 block of Maplewood Avenue when a man in a red or maroon Honda Odyssey minivan tried to lure the boy to his vehicle. The driver is described as an older white man in his fifties.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Area 2 detectives at 312-747-8271.
