Ridge Park Art Fair & Festival Will Feature More Than 40 Artists
The new festival will take place from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. June 23 and features live music as well as tours of the renowned Vanderpoel Gallery.

CHICAGO, IL — More than 40 Chicago-area artists will set up in tents along the walking trail that encircles Beverly's Ridge Park from 11 a.m-5 p.m. June 23 for the Ridge Park Art Fair and Festival. The inaugural festival at the park at 9625 S. Longwood Dr. will also include live music, food vendors, children's activities and tours of the park's ceramics building and renowned Vanderpoel Art Gallery.
"You will be able to walk the path and see everything," said Mary Jo Viero, president of the Ridge Park Advisory Council. Her group along with Irene Testa of the John H. Vanderpoel Art Association and the Chicago Park District have partnered to host the fair where artists have rented tents to sell a wide variety of art including paintings, photographs, jewelry, ceramics and even dolls.
Inclement weather would move the festival inside the field house, and the proceeds from the event will be reinvested into upgrades at the park, which recently had its sprawling roof replaced after years of patching leaks.

Attendees are also encouraged to check in with local artist Judie Anderson, who will be creating a watercolor painting of the park during the festival. Anderson is a professional illustrator and previously served as the art director for the Chicago Tribune.
The food vendors include Calabria Imports, Pollo Locuas and Smokin' BBQ Kitchen. For more information, visit the event's website at https://ridgeparkartfair.org.
