CHICAGO — The Beverly neighborhood's Memorial Day tradition, the Ridge Run race and Memorial Day parade along Longwood Drive, will be moved to another summer holiday weekend in 2020. The Beverly Area Planning Association said in its weekly newsletter that they will be postponing a few of their popular spring events due to the new coronavirus pandemic.

The Ridge Run, a 10K and 5K race through the neighborhood, is now set to take place on Saturday, Sept. 5. It will be followed by the Memorial Day parade that traditionally runs north on Longwood Drive from 110th Street to Ridge Park.

The BAPA Home Tour, another popular spring neighborhood event that usually occurs earlier in May and features resident homes that open for the public throughout the day, will now be held sometime in October the planning association said.
