Save Money, Sign Up for Ridge Run by Feb. 1

Registration is open for the Beverly Area Planning Association’s 37th Annual Ridge Run.

Held on Memorial Day, May 26, the event will include a 10K run, 5K run/walk, and Youth Mile.  Runners can take advantage of $5 off the regular race fee if they register by Feb. 1. Everyone who has entered by Feb. 1 will be automatically entered in a raffle to win one of two health screenings, one valued at $750 and one valued at $3,500, donated by Little Company of Mary Hospital, Ridge Run presenting sponsor.  

To enter, just go to www.bapa.org and click on the Ridge Run registration link. The 10K and 5K runs will be chip-timed using B-tags. All adult runners and walkers will receive dry tech t-shirts.

CARA Certification

The Ridge Run has been certified by the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) ensuring that the race will uphold CARA’s Best Practices Guidelines, which embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race, and that it will adhere to guidelines for “green” practices such as recycling and limited use of paper.

CARA is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding, motivating, supporting and celebrating the running community of Chicagoland. CARA connects runners to resources that enable them to run – farther, faster, better, for life.

Ridge Run Contests

The Ridge Run Committee invites area professional, amateur and student artists to submit designs for use on the t-shirt for the 37th Annual Ridge Run. Entries must be original art, include the Ridge Runlogo, and be submitted as a PDF to ridgerun@bapa.org by midnight, Mar. 1. Complete details are available at www.bapa.org/ridgerun.

Anyone who has participated in the Ridge Run over the past three decades has a chance to win the Show Us Your Shirt Contest. January 31 is the deadline to submit photos of yourself wearing a Ridge Run T-shirt in a far away country or a crazy location right here in Chicago. Feb. 28 is the deadline to submit a photo of you wearing the oldest Ridge Run T-shirt you can find. Mar. 31 is the deadline to submit a photo of you in any Ridge Run shirt, any place.Entries can be submitted on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ridgerun or emailed as jpegs or PDFs to ridgerun@bapa.org. Submitting photos gives BAPA the right to use the photos in materials and online in Ridge Run publications and promotions.
