Up In Smoke Festival At Americanos Coming Up

CHICAGO — Americanos, the restaurant at the northwest corner of 111th and Western in Beverly/Morgan Park will host a BBQ & Live Music Festival over the first full weekend of September. The Up In Smoke festical will go from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7 and from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8 in the parking lot just north of the restaurant.

Tacos, tequila and several local bands will be on hand for the festival, which Americanos Owner A.J. Castillo says is "something different, something fun."

"People are really looking forward to it," he said, hoping that about 1,000 people show up over the two days.

Local music will include Uncle Sexy and the Nephews, South City Revival, Railway Gamblers, Motel Breakfast, Pat Egan and the Heavy Hearts, Harlem Natural, The Dead Licks, Workout Music, Kelly Garrity and Army of Juan, which will perform at the after-hours party inside Americanos.

"I think we will put out a great product, and know we will put out some good food and good drinks," Castillo said.
