South Side Irish Parade Film Festival Returns For 5th Year

The films for the family matinee and evening feature at the Beverly Arts Center have been announced.

CHICAGO (BEVERLY) — The schedule is out for this year's South Side Irish Parade Film Festival, which is set for Saturday, March 7 at the Beverly Arts Center. The festival is in its fifth year in 2020 as an event that commemorates Irish film ahead of the South Side Irish Parade by exploring Irish culture through the lens of cinema, the B.A.C. said in a news release.

2 p.m.: A pre-show reception with traditional Irish music

3 p.m. "The Secret of Kells": A 2009 animated film about a young boy in a remote medieval outpost under siege. Tickets are $6, $5 for B.A.C. members.

7 p.m. "Odd Man Out": Set in a Northern Irish city, the movie follows a wounded Irish nationalist leader as he attempts to evade police after a failed robbery in Belfast. Tickets are $18, $16 for B.A.C. members.

9 p.m. An after-party with drinks, dancing and music from the local band 'A Week Back.'
