CHICAGO, IL — Southsiders for Peace plan to gather at the corner of 103rd Street and Western Avenue to protest the expected impeachment acquittal of President Donald Trump. The “Reject the Cover-Up” rallies is set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Over 160 “Reject the Cover-Up” events will roll out across the country at 5:30 local time following the U.S. Senate’s 4 p.m. acquittal vote by the GOP-controlled Senate to acquit the president of articles of impeachment for abuse of power and obstruction in Congress. The rallies are expected to draw tens of thousands of rally goers. Several organizations are leading the protests.

"We're mobilizing thousands of protesters across the country to make it clear that voters are watching, and we'll remember who chose cowardice over patriotism," said Sean Eldridge founder and president of Stand Up America.
