'Superheroes For Homeless' Offers Day Of Family Fun This Sunday
Dress as your favorite superhero and enjoy an day of family fun this Sunday, April 15, at SXU and help out your friends from Almost Home.

CHICAGO, IL -- Get out your superhero costume and come to the all-ages, family friendly fundraising event benefiting homeless families and individuals in the south suburbs. Heroes for the Homeless kicks off from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Saint Xavier University’s Shannon Center. A student project of SXU senior Mady Ruppert, all proceeds raised will go to Almost Home Chicago.
The superhero day features 50-yard dash races, superhero visits, face painting, crafts and a free hot dog lunch. Also included are free photos with visiting superheroes courtesy of Paul Ruppert Photography, split-the-pot and raffles, and a superhero training course. Whether you’re Flash, the Hulk or Wonder Woman, all superheroes will enjoy a fun-filled day.
Admission to Heroes for the Homeless is $10 for adults or $15 for two adults when you pre-register through Friday, April 13. Children 12 and under are $5; kids under age 2 are free. Guests attired in superhero costumes will receive a free raffle ticket. Admission includes all activities and crafts. Raffles and split-the-pot will be available for purchase. All activities will take place INDOORS at the Shannon Center on SXU’s Chicago campus at 3700 W. 103rd St.
