SXU Launches MathLab at Morgan Park High School
The long-term partnership initiated by Mayor Emanuel will help students prepare for their first collegiate math course.
Saint Xavier University (SXU) officially launched its innovative MathLab at Morgan Park High School (MPHS) on Feb. 16 in an effort to prepare students for their first collegiate mathematics course.
The initiative involves two SXU math professors training four MPHS math instructors on how to utilize the selected software as well as assist them in developing processes for selecting, monitoring and assessing all student learning progress.
Additionally, SXU students will be trained as mentors for the before and/or after-school programs. Thirty to 60 MPHS students are expected to participate in the after school program.
