SXU Names New Athletic Director

Allison Kern comes to Saint Xavier University after holding the same post at an NCAA Division III school in Georgia.

CHICAGO - Allison Kern has been selected to succeed Bob Hallberg as the next athletic director at Saint Xavier University. Kern comes to SXU after holding the same position at Agnes Scott College, an NCAA Division III school in Decatur, Georgia. She starts in her new role on July 15.

"Based on her passion for the mission of Saint Xavier University, her belief in the transformative power of an integrated academic and athletic experience, and her dynamic presence, Allison rose to the top of the candidate pool," Dr. Laurie Joyner, SXU president, said. "She is a strategic thinker, committed to enhancing partnerships across campus and strengthening relationships between the University and the external community."

Kern said she is "excited about the vision for Saint Xavier University and the role athletics can play in the growth of the institution.
