Woman Hit By Car On Valentine's Day In Mt. Greenwood Dies
A 25-year-old country music singer was struck by a car near 111th and Hamlin on Valentine's Day and died three days later.

CHICAGO (MT. GREENWOOD) — A woman who was hit by a car on Valentine's Day in the city's Mount Greenwood neighborhood died three days after the crash. The death of Lyndsey Lagestee, 25, of South Holland has been confirmed by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Chicago police said a 25-year-old woman, later identified as Lagestee, was near a parked car in the 3800 block of West 111th Street at 7:26 p.m. on Feb. 14 when she was struck by a Toyota driven by a 75-year-old man. The Toyota was westbound on 111th when it hit Lagestee, according to police.
After the crash, Lagestee was taken to nearby Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition. Her death was confirmed by the Medical Examiner's Office on Feb. 19. An obituary for her states she died on Feb. 17.

Lagestee was the lead singer of the Dixie Crush country music band, according to an article from The Legal Advocate.

Police said the Toyota driver stopped after he hit Lagestee and remained on the scene. He has not been charged criminally, but was issued a citation for failure to yield for pedestrian in roadway.
The Chicago Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Unit continues an investigation.
