The Anthem Closes In Wicker Park

The sports bar's owners announced they're closing for reconcepting.

CHICAGO — After eight years in Wicker Park, The Anthem officially closed its doors on Sunday. The sports bar's owners announced that they will be bringing the space back to life with a new concept.

The bar was known for its cheap happy hour, ample televisions, classic American bar fare and beer pong nights.

Over the past few weeks, the bar at 1725 W. Division Street has only been open on weekends, as its owners prepared to wind down and close on Jan. 27.
