Assistant Principal at Drummond Montessori School Dies
Samaiya Chevon Ewing was just 33 years old when she died at home Monday.
CHICAGO, IL - The assistant principal at Drummond Montessori School died this week at age 33.
Samaiya Chevon Ewing has been on the staff of the Bucktown school since October and died of natural causes, according to DNAinfo Chicago.

"The Drummond Community mourns the loss of a passionate educator and leader who touched the lives of students, teachers, staff and families this year,” Drummond Principal Raynell Wells said. “We are deeply saddened at the loss but celebrate her service to us."
Drummond previously worked as a resident principal at Oscar Mayer Magnet School in Lincoln Park.

Parents were notified of Ewing’s passing on Monday and grief counselors were sent to the school on Tuesday. Services will be held Saturday at Drake & Son Funeral Home in Andersonville.
