Bring Old Love Letters, Canceled Checks, TVs to Chamber Event
Mark your calendars for the Bucktown and Wicker Park paper shredding and electronics recycling event on March 9.

As tax season marches on, it's likely that your filing cabinet is overflowing with personal, Social Security Number-bearing documents.
Get rid of them safely while keeping your identity protected at an upcoming paper shredding event. On Saturday, March 9 from 10 a.m. to noon, pop over to the Kmart parking lot, 1360 N. Ashland Ave., where the WPB SSA #33 is hosting a shredding day. There’s no limit to how much residents can bring, and the drop-off process takes less than a minute.
The first two bags of documents are free, according to a recent letter from 1st Ward Ald. Joe Moreno's office.

"Gather your old financial records, canceled checks, credit card statements, love letters from your ex and watch them get destroyed in a matter of minutes, right before your very eyes," SSA representatives said.
While paper shredding is sponsored by Secure EcoShred, residents will also have an opportunity to dispose of their electronics in an eco-friendly way. PC Rebuilders & Recyclers will be there to take any old electronics, wipe away any personal information and refurbish them. Anything that can't be reused will be recycled.
