Coming in at No. 7, Urban Holiday Lofts in Bucktown breached the top 10 because of its cool hostel-style atmosphere. The hotel at 2026 W. Wabansia Ave. features 25 air-conditioned rooms, with private rooms that sleep up to 10 and shared rooms with 4-8 beds in them.
“You're guaranteed to meet some internationals and guaranteed to land at several superb watering holes and restaurants, which means you'll probably have a really fun time,” writes Crubed.

“This dainty Wicker Park option verges on Bed & Breakfast, though it's a proper Inn with eight amenity-laden rooms, adjoining spa and salon, steam showers, community kitchen, and a ‘secret garden’ tucked into the back of the building,” Curbed reports.
Rooms at Ruby Room average $170 per night for two people.
Curbed looked at user reviews, profiles and listened to street credibility when ranking what it says is the top 38 hotels in Chicago. Bucktown’s Urban Holiday Lofts was the first in the breakdown not to be in or near the Loop, with the Peninsula Hotel at 108 E. Superior St. taking first place.
