Cafe Cancale Opens In Wicker Park
The new french restaurant has taken over the former Anker space on Milwaukee.

CHICAGO — Wicker Parkers now have a new casual French dining option in their neighborhood — Cafe Cancale opened its doors Monday in the former Anker space near the Damen/North/Milwaukee intersection. Created by One Off Hospitality, Cafe Cancale is named after a small town on France's western coast, so many seafood dishes are offered on the menu.
The new restaurant offers French classics, such as beef tartare, escargot, duck terrine and steak frites, re-imagined with unique ingredients. The menu also offers oysters and shellfish from the U.S. West and East coasts, lobster bialy, charcoal-grilled tuna and poached halibut.
Cafe Cancale's drink menu offers a variety of wines, beers, spirits and unique, French-inspired cocktails.
