Chicago Fire Star David Eigenberg has False Alarm at Bucktown Home
The actor and his neighbors smelled gas and called the real Chicago Fire Department.

Chicago Fire’s David Eigenberg knows how the drill goes after filming for NBC’s hit drama, so when he smelled gas in his Bucktown home’s lobby, it was time to dial 911.
Eigenberg told the Chicago Sun-Times Voices he walked into his multi-unit building with his pregnant wife and 4-year-old son, his wife and neighbors also smelling gas. After debating what to do, he dialed the pros.
“I figured I’m probably going to be humiliated but then, if in two hours the whole building blows up, what am I gonna say? I didn’t want to be humiliated?” he told the Sun-Times.

The Naperville native, who spent three years in the U.S. Marine Corps., plays Christoper Herrmann on Chicago Fire. He also played Miranda Hobbes’ longtime love interest Steve Brady on Sex & the City.
While the gas leak was just a false alarm, Eigenberg did get some face time with the fire captain.
