Chicago’s First Peek Kids Replacing Stitch on Damen
The longtime Bucktown staple will close the end of 2013 with high-end children's retailer Peek Kids taking its place.

Designer furnishings and accessories store Stitch is shuttering in Bucktown after 16 years, with the national children’s clothing chain Peek Kids taking its place, DNAinfo Chicago reports.
The storefront located at 1723 N. Damen Ave. will remain open through the end of 2013’s holiday season, with hopes to relocate somewhere in Wicker Park after its closure, owner Pamela Hewitt tells reporter Alisa Hauser. Hewitt cites increasing rent as the reason for the move.
Peek Kids is a high-end children’s clothing store with girls dresses and skirts retailing around $60, and boys pants selling at about $50. The national chain currently has storefronts in Texas, California, Washington, Arizona, Colorado and Utah.

“Peek focuses on offering high-quality children's apparel and a shopping experience that allows all ages to connect with the joy of childhood,” Peek wrote in a statement. “The clothing shows the same consideration and quality that adults demand in their own wardrobe, with thoughtful details, luxurious materials, and interesting finishing work that elevates it to something kids can love.”
Peek Kids’ Facebook page is adorned with photos of celebrity children wearing its brand, including Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady’s son, Selma Blair’s son and Chris Hemsworth’s daughter.
