Christmas Tree Recycling On North Side: Locations, Free Mulch
The City of Chicago has announced its 30th annual tree recycling program.

CHICAGO — The city's holiday tree recycling program will run from Saturday, Jan. 5 through Saturday, Jan. 19 at 25 locations across the city. Trees recycled through the program are turned into mulch and wood chips for use in Chicago Park Districts.
The program can't accept wreaths or garlands, and ornaments and tinsel must be removed from the trees.
Since the program started in 1990, more than 268,000 trees have been recycled. Last year, more than 18,000 trees were recycled in Chicago.
