Dangerous Wicker Park Intersection Getting $300K Makeover

The six-way intersection will soon become a traditional four-way crossroad to minimize accidents and confusion.

The dangerous intersection of Milwaukee Avenue, Wolcott Avenue and Wood Street will soon get a major overhaul to reduce confusion for pedestrians, drivers and cyclists, DNAinfo Chicago reports.

As a part of the $3 million CDOT Traffic Signal Modernization Project, Chicago officials say they’ll change the six-way intersection into a traditional four-way crossing with traffic signals and crosswalks, reporter Alisa Hauser writes.

“About damn time,” said Ald. Joe Moreno in a statement.
