Dunlays Restaurant Closes After 13 Years In Logan Square

A well-known bar and restaurant said goodbye to patrons on Facebook Monday.

CHICAGO, IL — The restaurant Dunlays on the Square closed Sunday after 13 years, the eatery announced on Facebook. Owned by 4 Star Restaurant Group, the Logan Square location has a sister restaurant in Lincoln Park, Dunlays on Clark. The restaurant posted a heartfelt goodbye to to Facebook fans Monday.

"Thank you for being a part of our journey," Dunlays posted. "We will miss our Logan Square neighbors and community. Please stay in touch and visit our sister restaurants."

The restaurant group said it was able to find positions for all the Dunlays on the Square staff at other 4 Star Restaurants.

Many people posted their goodbyes to the restaurant on Facebook, and expressed their sadness that it closed. The eatery at 3137 W. Logan Boulevard was known for being one of Logan Square's pioneer restaurants, establishing itself before the neighborhood became one of the city's biggest hotspots for dining out.
