'Earth Girls are Easy' Kicks Off Free Movies in Wicker Park

With four movies in the park this summer, watch Jim Carey, Will Smith and other superstars in blockbuster hits.

The 1988 classic, "Earth Girls are Easy," will be playing for free in Wicker Park Wednesday. 

The movie features what any California girl would do: when aliens land in your pool, make friends with them.

Wednesday's showing kicks off Movies in the Parks by the Chicago Park District. For more than a decade, residents have gathered 150 parks for 194 screenings each summer. 

All movies are free and begin at dusk, weather permitting.

Three other features will play at Wicker Park throughout the summer, sponsored by the Wicker Park Advisory Council and The Wormhole Coffee: 

  • July 2 Independence Day
  • July 25 Jurassic Park
  • Aug. 22 The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai
