Flash Flood Watch, 75 MPH Winds Expected Wednesday

The National Weather Service is putting Chicago in the "high risk" category. Look for severe weather to being late Wednesday afternoon into the early evening.

The entire Chicago area could see severe storms Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has placed most of Illinois and Chicago in the "high risk" category for severe weather on Wednesday, with a portion of Illinois south of Chicago in the "moderate risk" category.

The report says its expected to hit around 4 p.m.

According to the weather service, residents of Bucktown and Wicker Park could see:

  • STRONG TORNADOES
  • DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 75 MPH
  • HAIL TO THE SIZE OF BASEBALLS
  • VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WHICH COULD CAUSE FLASH FLOODING
Look for severe weather to being late Wednesday afternoon into the early evening.
