Google Announces Expansion In Chicago
The expansion will bring hundreds of new finance jobs to the city, the tech giant said.

CHICAGO — Google has announced it's expanding its finance division in the city. The expansion will add hundreds of new local jobs over the next two years.
The tech giant chose Chicago as the new hub for its finance division as part of its national expansion plan.
Positions will include financial planners, accountants and technology jobs. Most of Google's finance employees are on the West Coast, but the tech giant said that will no longer the case with its expansion in the Midwest.

The company said it hopes to attract talent from Big Ten universities in the Midwest, as well as try to lure potential employees who want to live in or around a large urban area but don't want to deal with the high cost of living on the West Coast.
Google's office in Chicago's Fulton Market District currently employs more than 1,000 people.
