Happy Camper, Homeslice Owners To Open Wicker Park Restaurant

A new restaurant is coming to North Avenue, according to Eater.

CHICAGO, IL — The co-owners of Chicago restaurants Happy Camper and Homeslice are planning to open an eatery in Wicker Park, according to a report by Eater. Josh Iachelli and Clay Hamilton have secured a permit to renovate a one-story building at 1913 W. North Ave., a former Northwestern Medicine location.

Both Lincoln Park's Homeslice and Old Town's Happy Camper are highly-rated pizza restaurants, known for their thin crust and innovative interior design. At Homeslice, an Airstream trailer has been converted into a modern lounge, and Happy Camper features rubber tire swing seats and a shiny RV booth.

Iachelli and Hamilton have released few details about the planned Wicker Park location, including its name.

“It will not be Homeslice or Happy Camper," Hamilton told Eater. "You can expect an approachable menu combined with a fun atmosphere. We love the neighborhood and all the exciting new developments happening in Wicker [Park].”

The co-owners said they hope the new Wicker Park restaurant will open in 2018.
