HT Fall Sports: Bsoc: HT 2, Cristo Rey 1

Holy Trinity (6-0-1 overall, and now 5-0-1 in the CPS) defeated visiting Cristo Rey on Wednesday evening in a game played on the turf field @ Humboldt Park.

After a scoreless first half, the host Tigers tallied as Alex Martinez sent a corner kick into the goal area and teammate Kevin Perez converted the play, heading the ball home for a 1-0 HT lead about 7 minutes into the second half.
Cristo Rey evened things up at 1-all with about 15 minutes to play.
But then HT senior Willie Zanas got the Tigers the game winner with 5 minutes to play and important 2-1 victory.
Tiger Perez assisted on Zanas' goal and goalkeeper Damien Garcia had 12 total saves, with nine coming in the last stanza alone.

--1st place CPC with 5 wins; and one tie, 16 points in conference.
