HT Fall Sports: Gvb: HT @ the Westmont tourney -- Sept. 14

Holy Trinity's Lady Tigers traveled to Westmont on Saturday September 15th to participate in the annual Sentinels volleyball tournament where the team finished at one win in three matches on the day.

versus CHRIST THE KING: The Tigers opened with a victory against Chicago Prep foe Christ the King, dropping the Gladiators by scores of 25-11, 25-16. HIGHLIGHTS (listed below):

Alyssa Hernandez -- 8 service points, five aces and six kills; Lizette Gallegos -- 12 service points, 5 aces; Jocelyn Salgado -- nine service points, 2 aces; and Jennifer Rios -- six set assist.

SERVING: HT: 49 attempts with 45 made for a 92% average and seven aces. CTK: 28 attempts with 23 made for an 82% average and six aces.

versus Westmont: The Tigers stumbled out of the gate in this match, dropping game one to the hosts by a score of 4-25.

HT did regroup and played stronger in the second game, but the Sentinels were victorious her as well by a 25-15 count.

HIGHLIGHTS: Jennifer Rios -- 3 service points for HT. SERVING: HT: 20 attemps with 15 made for a 75% average and 2 ace serves. WESTMONT: 49 attempts with 45 made for a 92% average and 11 aces.

versus St. Joseph (Westchester): In the finale on the day, HT played GCAC foe St. Joseph (Westchester) and lost to the Chargers by identical scores of 25-20, 25-20.

HIGHLIGHTS: Alyssa Hernandez -- 11 service points, two kills and one block; Niyah Willams -- one block; Kyra Hayes -- 2 kills; and Jennifer Rios -- six set assists. SERVING: HT: 41 attempts with 31 made for a 76% average with 8 aces. ST. JOSEPH: 48 attempts with 42 made and 8 aces.

NEXT for the Lady Tigers: Monday, Sept. 16th @ home vs. Rochelle-Zell -- Jv/V 5 p.m, /6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17th on the road @ Ellison Charter (varsity) @ 5 p.m.

NEXT for the HT Boys soccer: Monday, Sept. 16th away @ Notre Dame Niles @ the Niles school.
