It’s Movie Night: Outdoor Movie Planned Wednesday in Bucktown

The first of three movies is headed to Churchill Park where organizers plan to screen a comedy classic outdoors.

Few things scream summer like packing a blanket, heading to the park and watching a movie outdoors under the stars.

That’s why the Bucktown Community Organization’s Movies in the Parks series is kicking off on Wednesday at Churchill Park. Located at 1825 N. Damen Ave., the movie will begin at dusk, expected to be around 8:30 p.m.

The first movie in the series is the 1986 comedy classic Little Shop of Horrors. That’s followed by Despicable Me slated for July 30 and The Amazing Spider-man scheduled for the same time on Aug. 29.

Bucktown Movies in the Park is outdoors and obviously dependent on weather, and when this story was published, Wednesday’s forecast is showing thunderstorms all day, according to Weather.com.

BCO organizer Michael Laux says the group is hoping for good weather, and they plan to air the film rain or shine.
