CHICAGO — Lillie's Q restaurant is scheduled to reopen this week after undergoing some changes. The barbecue spot at 1856 W. North Avenue has been closed for several weeks.
The restaurant will switch to counter service and customers will carry their food to their table, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
Lillie's Q chef and owner Charlie McKenna told the Tribune that the new counter system will speed up service.

Scheduled to re-open Friday, the spot's new a la carte menu will include some of its mainstays — fried chicken and smoked meats; however, Texas-style brisket will be available every day, according to the report. There will also be more specials.
"Chefs are creative; we get bored," McKenna told the Tribune. "Maybe we come up with a Thai rib that’s a special for a day, or a week. We want to have more opportunities to do new things.”
