CHICAGO — A Bucktown bar that's outlived many of its earliest customers celebrated its 85th birthday over the weekend. Since 1934, Lottie's Pub has weathered gentrification and stood strong throughout its eight decades on Chicago's North Side.

The pub celebrated with 85 cent mimosas all day Saturday — a hat tip to its menu items from decades past, which sold for the same price. The bar still has advertisements from those days, which feature 85 cent burgers and drafts.

Lottie's Pub, at 1925 Cortland, has stayed open amid many nearby closures, as rent prices and costs go up in the popular neighborhood. Many of Lottie's customers have been going to the bar for more than 40 years.

The tavern has been a social center and a gathering place for the community since it opened. Lottie's co-owner Mark Domitrovich said their "greatest compliment comes from our customers that say coming to Lottie’s makes them feel like they’re coming home."

The bar was also featured as "Molly's" on NBC's "Chicago Fire," the pub that was purchased by two firemen and a paramedic. The pub was closed for several Fridays six years ago for filming.
