Man Struck By Blue Line Train On Near West Side
The man is in critical condition, authorities said.

CHICAGO — A 30-year-old man was hit by a CTA Blue Line train Tuesday morning on the city's Near West Side, authorities said. Train service stopped between Racine and Pulaski while the man was removed from the tracks, officials said.
The fire department responded to the call just after 5 a.m. in the 400 block of South Western Avenue, officials said.
The man was removed from under the train and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, according to a report by the Chicago Tribune. The train's conductor was taken to Stroger as a precaution.

Train service between Racine and Pulaski resumed around 6 a.m., however the Chicago Transit Authority warned that some Blue Line trains would continue to operate with residual delays and congestion.
CTA provided a shuttle bus for passengers while service was suspended.
