Masked Carjacker Targeting Victims In Logan Square

A man in a surgical mask has been stealing cars from victims at gunpoint, police said.

CHICAGO — Police are searching for two suspects after a string of carjackings in the Logan Square neighborhood. The carjackings occurred during the day between Jan. 2 and Jan. 7, police said.

In each incident, a man pulled out a silver handgun and demanded the victim's vehicle, police said in a community alert. The man was wearing a white surgical mask during two of the carjackings, police said.

In one incident, he was accompanied by a woman, according to the alert.

The carjackings occurred:

• 2700 block of N. Drake Ave. on Jan. 2 at 3:31 p.m.;
• 2600 block of N. Spaulding Ave. on Jan. 6 at 3:15 p.m.;
• 2600 block of N. Spaulding Ave. on Jan. 7 at 9 a.m.
