New Spin Studio Opens In Wicker Park
Spynergy Wicker Park held its grand opening Sept. 4.

CHICAGO — A new spin studio opened in Wicker Park Tuesday in an alley off of West Division Street. Just steps away from the Division L Stop, Spynergy Wicker Park — the second generation of its Winnetka counterpart, offers riders spin classes with energizing music. The studio has taken over a 1,500-square-foot building that's been around for more than 100 years.
Spynergy, at 1632b West Division St., offers 35 state-of-the-art bikes, suited for both clip spin shoes and traditional sneakers. Unlike other dark, windowless spin studios in Chicago, Spynergy will offer a bright space with natural light, owner Liza Solberg said.
"To keep riders rhythm and high energy levels on point, our instructors play songs with clear and catchy down beats, which could include anywhere from Fleetwood Mac to today's top 40; everyone in the room should hear something familiar," Solberg said.

Solberg was just 10 years old when her mom and aunt refined the Spynergy concept in Winnetka. Solberg began teaching classes when she was 15 years old, and is now opening her first studio at 26.
Leading up to the official opening, Spynergy offered 1,000 free rides for private groups and public classes.
