Police Warn Of Robberies In Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village

Police issued a community alert Saturday.

CHICAGO — Police are searching for a suspect after two armed robberies were reported in Wicker Park and Ukrainian Village. In each robbery, the man went up to the victim, pulled out a handgun and demanded property, police said in a community alert.

The first victim was robbed on Feb. 1 at about 8:10 p.m. in the 2200 block of West Rice Street, police said. Then another person was robbed the same day at about 8:40 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Hoyne Avenue.

The suspect is described as a black man, ages 50-60, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, and weighing between 180 to 220 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue parka jacket and light pants, police said.
