Revolution Brewing Recalls 6 Beers Over Taste Issues

The beers were pulled because of "quality issues" and don't pose any safety risks, according to the Logan Square craft brewery.

CHICAGO, IL — A Logan Square craft brewery is recalling six beers it produces because of yeast contamination that affects the beverages' taste but isn't a health or safety concern.

Revolution Brewing announced the beer recall on its website Monday, calling it "strictly a quality issue" and saying that the affected beers "do not meet our brand specifications for taste and flavor."

The brewery is pulling these beers that were packaged during the following dates:

  • Anti-Hero IPA: Aug. 5 to Oct. 11
  • Cross of Gold Ale: Aug. 23
  • Eugene Porter: Aug. 3 to Oct. 6
  • Fist City Pale Ale: Aug. 11 to Sept. 26
  • Mosaic Hero IPA: Aug. 16 to Sept. 8
  • Unsessionable Imperial IPA: Sept. 27 to Oct. 7

The recall does not affect Revolution's Oktoberfest, Rev Pils, Citra Hero, Rosa Hibiscus Ale and Bottom Up Wit beers, the brewery said.

Customers can exchange their affected beer for fresh beer only at the Revolution Tap Room, 3340 N. Kedzie Ave. Questions or comments about the recall can be sent via email at info@revbrew.com.
