Rick Bayless Opening New Wicker Park Restaurant

Celebrity chef Rick Bayless is opening a new restaurant concept in Wicker Park, Ald. Joe Moreno confirmed Monday.

Representatives with the chef are staying mum about the theme and exact location of the new space, but Moreno took to his Twitter account to confirm the red-hot rumors.

“I’m excited to confirm that this rumor is true… New Rick Bayless Restaurant Coming,” Moreno Tweeted in response to an Eater Chicago article.

And while nobody’s spilling the beans about the official location, Eater notes that a 10-year lease was recently signed at the former Salud Tequila Lounge space at 1471 N. Milwaukee Ave. Multiple sources have said the new tenant is Rick Bayless.

Bayless currently has three River North restaurants, as well as other small eateries in Chicago airports and Water Tower Place.
