Sit-In For Shelter Dogs To Be Held In Bucktown
A local rescue center is inviting people to gather in remembrance of the 1.5 million shelter pets killed annually in the U.S.

CHICAGO, IL — A no-kill animal rescue center in Chicago is holding a sit-in to call attention to the countless pets who are killed in animal shelters every year. One Tail at a Time Adoption Center will host its 3rd Annual Sit-In For Shelter Dogs on Sunday, June 3. The event is a fundraiser for the center, and prizes will be offered for participants who raise more than $250.
"For 15 minutes on June 3rd we will all 'sit' quietly to raise awareness for the 1.5 million shelter animals killed each year," the shelter said in a statement.
The sit-in will begin at 10 a.m. at the adoption center — 2144 N. Wood. Each registrant will get a fundraising page, and the top fundraising team will get a prize package, the center said.
