Tocco To Close In Wicker Park
The Italian restaurant will shutter in the spring, according to a report.

CHICAGO — A restaurant that has served Italian fare for a decade in the city's Wicker Park neighborhood is set to close in a few months, according to a report by Eater Chicago. Tocco's owner, Bruno Abate, told Eater he plans to close the spot at 1266 N. Milwaukee Ave. in March and open a new location in Winnetka.
Tocco opened in 2008 after being converted from a former McDonald's. The restaurant offers a large wine list and serves pizza, pasta and a variety of other Italian dishes.
Abate said Tocco has done well in Wicker Park; however, the restaurant needs upgrades and rising labor and rent costs have left him seeking a "fresh start," Eater reported. He also noted that it's often difficult for independent restaurants like his to compete with Chicago's big restaurant groups.
