West Humboldt Park Man Fatally Stabs Relative, Flees, Crashes: Chicago Police

A 28-year-old Chicago man was charged with first-degree murder this past week after a domestic dispute in a West Side neighborhood.

CHICAGO - Chicago cops nabbed a 28-year-old man this week accused in a fatal stabbing that occurred during a West Humboldt Park domestic dispute.

Tyrone A. Montalvo, of the 1400 block of North Kildare Avenue, faces one felony count of first-degree murder. The charge stems from a July 12 evening incident in which Montalvo got into an argument with a male family member, according to police.

“When the altercation turned physical, Montalvo stabbed the victim in the neck with a knife and fled the scene,” police said. “The victim was transported to Stroger Hospital for treatment of his wounds but was ultimately pronounced (dead).”

The victim was a 32 years old.

Montalvo reportedly fled the scene and got into a car crash around 9:20 p.m. in the 4500 block of North Cicero Avenue. Responding officers took him into custody there.

He was scheduled to appear in bond court on Friday afternoon.
