Wicker Park-area Businesses Spreading Breast Cancer Awareness
Several local businesses have teamed up with the Lynn Sage Foundation's In Good Taste campaign this October.
Over 170 Chicagoland bars and restaurants are participating in the Lynn Sage Foundation's In Good Taste campaign to support Breast Cancer Awareness this October. Raising money to help fund local breast cancer research, all participating establishments are donating proceeds from select menu items to the cause. Even several spots in the Bucktown-Wicker Park neighborhood are joining the cause.
The newest Kanela Breakfast Club to open at 2127 W. Division St. in Ukrainian Village is donating a portion of proceeds from every Red Velvet French Toast sold. The decadent dish is available for $11.49 and features cream cheese frosting, fresh strawberries, and creme anglaise.
Down the block at 1924 W. Division, MAK: Modern Asian Kitchen is offering patrons buy-one-get-one free donuts all month long. The BOGO donuts, which come in Black Sesame or Five Spice flavors, can be purchased for $1 each or $5 for six, and a portion of proceeds will go to the Lynn Sage Foundation.

Patrons can also support breast cancer research by sipping a cocktail at Bucktown newcomer Remedy, situated between Wicker Park and Logan Square at 1910 N Milwaukee Ave. The late night bar will round out October by supporting the In Good Taste campaign Monday, October 23 through Tuesday, October 31. For every pink cocktail on the menu purchased (except during happy hour), Remedy will donate $1. Pink cocktails for $10 each include the Bronson (Vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, PAMA Pomegranate, Chareau, Creme de Violette), Owlington (Pineapple juice, Giffard Banana, Hamilton Gold Rum, lime juice, Coco Lopez, Angostura Bitters), and the Bloom (Sailor Jerry rum, Giffard Banane, strawberry syrup, lemon Juice, rosé).
For something sweet, Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya at 1482 N. Milwaukee Avenue has created a special Strawberry Tiramisu. The $9 dessert features Kizuki strawberry mousse and tiramisu mousse topped with fresh strawberry. Twenty-percent of proceeds from the signature dessert will be donated to the campaign.
