Wicker Park BBQ Joints Named Some of America’s Best
Two area restaurants were named in Daily Candy's roundup of the nation's best barbecue restaurants. Guess which two made the cut.

When it comes to America’s hottest barbecue joints, lifestyle website DailyCandy thinks they’ve cracked the code.
The publication’s staff of barbecue connoisseurs toured the country, and based on their findings, four Chicago restaurants are deemed some of the best. Two of those, however, are in Wicker Park.
Coming in at number No. 14, The Smoke Daddy sitting at 1804 W. Division St. snagged some attention for its pulled pork.
“The Daddy is a Wicker Park standby,” they wrote. “Go for the pulled pork and indulgent weekend brunch (the fried peanut butter and banana sandwich is a must); stay for the giant patio and live music.”
In addition, coming in at No. 6, Lillie’s Q nearly breached the top five of DailyCandy’s list. The Chicago favorite at 1856 W. North Ave. survived a blaze and is cranking out barbecue as good as ever.
“After a fire, the smoked-meat haunt returned less than three months later to serve Charlie McKenna’s award-winning barbecue,” they wrote. “Bonus: Grab his addictive spicy marinades, sauces, and rubs to go.”
Other Chicago restaurants to make the list include Smoque BBQ at 3800 N. Pulaski Road and Honkey Tonk BBQ at 1800 S. Racine Ave. Smoke landed at No. 18, and Honkey Tonk hit the list at No. 13.
As for DailyCandy’s favorite? Well, that would be Hi Lo BBQ in San Francisco.
