6 Skaters Who Train at Buffalo Grove Rink Headed to Nationals
The six skaters train at Twin Rinks Ice Pavilion in Buffalo Grove.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL -- Six local skaters who trained at Twin Rinks Ice Pavilion in Buffalo Grove will be headed to the U.S. Figure Skating Association's national championships, which kicks off this weekend in Detroit. The skaters, who train five to six days per week at the Buffalo Grove facility and put in two to three hours each day on the ice, include:
- Hannah Lofton, 14, of Palatine
- Elsa Cheng, 13, of Vernon Hills
- Matthew Soifer, 12, of Riverwoods
- Calista Choi, 14, of West Dundee
- Ava Neuhaus, of Frankfort
- Isabelle Inthisonek, of Sun Prairie, Wis.
Bradie Tennell, who also trains at the local rink, was supposed to compete in the national championships but now won't be able to due to a sickness, according to the Daily Herald. Tennell won the bronze medal at the Winter Olympic in Pyeonchang and is the reigning senior ladies champion.
The U.S. Figure Skating championships start on Friday with competitions continuing daily through Jan. 27.
