BGPD Kick off Independence Day Enforcement Campaign
The campaign is in effect now through July 6, 2021, to include both weekends leading up to, and following the Independence Day holiday.

Buffalo Grove, IL — The Buffalo Grove Police Department has begun the ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ and ‘Click It or Ticket’ July 4th traffic enforcement campaign, with a focus on impaired driving and unbuckled drivers. The campaign is in effect now through July 6, 2021, to include both weekends leading up to, and following the Independence Day holiday, which is traditionally one of the deadliest times of the year on Illinois roads.

“We want this to be a safe and enjoyable holiday,” said Lieutenant Michael Rodriguez. “Remember, if you’re going to drink or use other impairing substances, don’t drive. Officers will be stepping up patrols to keep impaired drivers off the roads and ensure everyone makes it home safely from their celebrations.”
Buffalo Grove Police join the Illinois State Police and more than 200 local police and sheriff’s departments for the increased statewide enforcement effort.

This enforcement campaign is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation with federal highway safety funds. It runs concurrently with a media campaign reminding motorists that impaired driving has life or death consequences
