Buffalo Grove Earns 2016 Tree City Award

The Arbor Day Foundation has awarded Buffalo Grove with the 2016 Tree City USA and the village will be presented with the flag on Apr. 28.

From Buffalo Grove: The Village of Buffalo Grove recently earned recognition as a 2016 Tree City USA from the Arbor Day Foundation.

This acknowledgement is a direct result of the Village’s consistent policies that make the planting and care of trees a priority.

The Tree City USA program has four requirements; that the recipient has either a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation on a yearly basis.
