Several Buffalo Grove-area government agencies received a failing grade for government transparency online from a recent Illinois Policy Institute audit, according to a Daily Herald analysis.

In its audit, the Illinois Policy Institute looked at access to contact information online as well as public meetings, public records, budgets, audits, expenditures, contracts, taxes and more, according to the Illinois Policy Institute website.
The Daily Herald analysis found of the 102 suburban government agencies in the audit, 70 had scores of 60 percent or below. Here's how the Buffalo Grove-area agencies fared:
- Stevenson High School District 125: 49.9 percent
- Aptakisic-Tripp Dist. 102: 48.7 percent
- Buffalo Grove: 48.5 percent
- Kildeer Countryside District 96: 29.1 percent
- Vernon Township: 16.7 percent
