Buffalo Grove Issued Over 200 Tickets During July 4 Holiday
The Buffalo Grove Police Department was out in full force over the holidays.
BUFFALO GROVE, IL —Buffalo Grove Police Department officers stayed busy over the Fourth of July holiday and handed out over 200 tickets as part of increased patrols, which were put in place as a way to keep area roadways safe, authorities said. In total, authorities arrested one impaired driver, handed out 159 seat belt citations, arrested one for driving with a revoked license, issued 32 distracted driving tickets and cited 20 for speeding, according to a news release from the Buffalo Grove Police Department. Officers from more than 160 agencies across the state participated in the Drive Sober of Get Pulled Over and Click it or Ticket safety campaigns.
The recent law enforcement effort was funded by federal traffic safety funds from the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” programs.
