BUFFALO GROVE, IL - Village of Buffalo Grove officials are hosting an public open house next month to get feedback about the future Lake Cook Corridor.
Their local consultant team has worked closely with the Corridor Planning Group — the project’s steering committee — to develop alternatives for the corridor that align with the plan's goals, and boost Buffalo Grove's identity, vitality, and fiscal sustainability, according to a community alert. Residents are invited to review details at an open house set for 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, in the Community Arts Center at 225 McHenry Road.
"The open house will showcase key elements of the project including market analysis, natural resources, transportation, land use, and development," the alert said. "Project team members will be present to address comments, questions and collect feedback from the community."

Officials said that data, information and community input during the corridor's previous planning phases were instrumental in framing alternate scenarios.
The Lake Cook Corridor is a key asset for the Buffalo Grove community, encompassing about 472 acres and more than 1 million square feet of commercial and retail space. The site is home to the village campus and municipal golf course, and serves as a gateway to Buffalo Grove from a regional network of expressways, highways and other major thoroughfares.

"With (more than) 40,000 vehicles traveling on it per day, Lake Cook Road is one of the most utilized and visible roads in the region," village officials said.
The project’s first public meeting was held in February 2017, when participants join an online poll and submitted their comments and concerns.
“We had a great turnout for the first public meeting,” Village Board President Beverly Sussman said. “We encourage everyone to attend the upcoming open house to see the project’s progress, and to provide feedback.”
The project’s end result will be a vision plan for the Corridor that is comprehensive, grounded in market realities and achievable, Sussman has said. The plan should be complete by the end of 2017.
